Guidelines for submitting a custom logo:
You can submit
artwork in either paper form or in electronic form. We do not do logo
design work; we simply apply your existing graphic to your check
order. The final reproduction will only be as good as the original we
receive so please use the following guidelines and instructions for
submitting your artwork to ensure the highest quality. Note:
graphics such as .gif and .jpg files taken from a web site will not
print with acceptable results. We DO NOT accept .gif or .jpg files. Also we cannot use word processing documents with
embedded graphics, such as a Word document (.doc). Please send the original graphics
file in a format as described below instead.
We print in black ink only on
security screened/treated paper with a colored background. If you submit
a logo with multiple colors we will convert it to black/white.
Keep in mind that there is
limited space on the check form and that we must position it within the
area designated by your software package for the name/address. We try to
work within a box size of 3" wide x 3/4" tall, so that the
check can fit into a double window envelope. The window size is
3-1/2" x 1" but you need to allow for some float within the
envelope. Unless otherwise instructed, we will re-size your logo to fit
into this area. Note that if we have to resize the logo significantly, there will be some
loss of sharpness/detail, or pixelation of type.
If your logo consists of just a
graphic (i.e. no name/address information), we will set the type for the
name/address and position it to the right of the logo, or under the logo
in the case of a wide but short logo. We use standard Windows NT fonts;
we do not attempt to match fonts or spacing to any artwork provided.
Upon request, we can use any of the standard Windows NT fonts for the
name/address. Please call to make sure that we do, in fact, have the
requested font in our system.
If specific fonts, spacing,
kerning, or leading is integral to the design of your logo, you must
include the type as part of the artwork. For copyright reasons we cannot
accept font files (.ttf files) from our customers.
When submitting artwork on
paper, send a good clean sharp black on white image approximately the
size of the final image. Do not send excessively large images; we will
have to re-size the image and detail is lost whenever an image is
re-sized. Logos containing fine screens do not reproduce well from a
paper original, especially if we have to re-size it. We cannot accept a
fax of your logo; the quality is too poor.
When submitting artwork
electronically, for best results send an image approximately the size as
described above. We use Photoshop on a PC, not a Mac. The file should be
a grayscale TIFF (.tif) or bitmap (.bmp) file, with a resolution of 600 dpi. DO NOT send a .jpg or .gif file from your web site, or a word processing document with
an embedded graphic (such as a Word file); the 72 dpi
quality is not acceptable. We DO NOT accept such files. Period. E-mail the file to logos@bestchecks.com.
Be sure to include your name/phone number. PLEASE BE SURE to mark the order form to
indicate that the logo is being sent via e-mail.
There is a $25.00 one-time logo
set-up charge. There is no logo charge for reorders or for using the logo on
multiple bank accounts (orders).
